Ticks in London Pose Lyme Disease Threat

LONDON —
The agent that causes Lyme disease has been detected in ticks in two south London parks, posing a potential threat to city dwellers, a researcher reported in this week’s Lancet, a medical journal.
Ticks transmit the disease to animals and humans. Untreated, the illness may lead to chronic neurological and arthritic complications.
