SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Year-Round School Has More Openings
Harold Ambuehl Elementary School, Capistrano Unified School District’s year-round school, is accepting applications for a limited number of openings in its kindergarten, second, third and fifth grades.
Children who live within the district’s boundaries are eligible to attend Ambuehl, but parents must provide their own transportation.
The application deadline is 3 p.m. Monday. A lottery for the openings is scheduled next Wednesday.
Principal Kathy George said there will be up to 8 openings in kindergarten, 4 in second grade, 20 in third and 10 in fifth.
Ambuehl has students on two calendars. Some of its students are on the traditional September through June calendar, while the others are on a year-round schedule.
The school year for the year-round students began this week.
