TUSTIN : Mobile Home Park’s Density Increased

Share

The Tustin City Council rezoned a mobile home park on Nisson Road on Monday night to allow greater density.

The change in the 7.85-acre park’s allowable density was needed because 1.5 acres of the Trail-A-Way park was taken by Caltrans for the Santa Ana Freeway widening project. The density now is almost 15 units per acre; without the rezoning, only 10 mobile homes per acre would have been allowed.

A representative of the park said she was happy about the rezoning because it would have been difficult to decide which homes would have to leave.

“It’s real appropriate for us to accommodate the people who remain,” Councilman Richard B. Edgar said.
