Laser Precision Finishes Sale of Division: Irvine-based Laser Precision Corp., a maker of test measurement instruments, said Friday that it completed the sale of its Analect Instruments division in Irvine to Air & Water Technologies Corp., an environmental treatment and services company in Branchburg, N.J. The Analect division was sold for about $5 million and will be incorporated into A&W;’s Irvine subsidiary, KVB Inc., which manufactures equipment that monitors air emissions of industrial plants. Joseph J. Janush, vice president and general manager of KVB, replaced James Johnson as general manager of the division, which KVB now calls Analect/FT-IR Products. The merger will mean about 20 layoffs, mostly from the Analect division, Janush said. KVB officials said there are no plans to move the division from its present location in Irvine.
