Chip Lyles hit two home runs, including a grand slam, to lead Orange County to the Continental Amateur Baseball Assn. 13-and-under World Series title with a 23-3 victory over Knoxville, Tenn., at McCook, Neb.

Orange County scored six runs in the first inning and added four more in both the third and fourth innings to take a 14-3 lead. It scored three runs in the fifth and six in the sixth.

Peter Flores, who pitched 28 innings in the tournament, was the winner. Brad Howard, who pitched 28 innings for Knoxville, took the loss but still was voted the tournament’s most valuable pitcher. Eric Chavez of Orange County was voted the most valuable player.
