Tom Bethell’s column (“Wilson’s Way Is Easy, Not Responsible,” Commentary, Aug. 4) comes within a sigh of expressing the far right’s final solution to homelessness, alternate lifestyles, unions, Third World unrest and dissenters in general. Starvation, disenfranchisement, brutish law and order, unemployment, deprivation of human rights and denial of access to education, health care, housing and birth control having failed to silence those they hate, Bethell and other self-appointed watchdogs of American families, values and interests are still too cowardly to openly suggest mass extermination.
