OJAI : Schools Top Water Conservation Goals
The Ojai Unified School District not only met but exceeded its conservation goals last year, the school board was told Tuesday night.
Because of the drought, water customers in the Ojai Valley, including the school district, were asked to cut water use by 20%.
Records show that the district reduced water use by 23% for the 1990-91 school year.
Grounds supervisor Mark Ditchfield and his staff get much of the credit, Assistant Supt. Leo Molitor said. Most of the 1990-91 savings was in outdoor use.
