William Gary Davis, 56, Emmy-award winning director of creative services for TV station KCOP. He wrote several television specials, among them a tribute to actress Natalie Wood that won a local Emmy. He also won an Emmy for producing the “Live From the Hollywood Bowl” broadcasts. In cooperation with MCA TV, Davis in 1982 introduced “Operation Prime Time,” a pioneering effort to produce quality television films for independent stations across the country.
