USC Band Practices at Raiders’ Camp

The USC Trojan Band arrived in Oxnard Wednesday for a 2 1/2-day training camp that includes on-field marching and music rehearsals, officials said.

The 300-member band will practice until Friday at a training facility next to the Radisson Suite Hotel. The field and gym, owned by the city of Oxnard, was recently vacated by players of the Los Angeles Raiders who use the facility as a summer training camp. “Our facility is a natural for their purposes,” said Bob Burk, Radisson’s marketing director.

Oxnard has been criticized for prohibiting the public from using the field at any time during the year, including when it is not occupied by the Raiders.
