Prosecutors filed charges Thursday against Jeffrey L. Dahmer in three more dismemberment slayings, raising to 15 the number of people he is formally accused of killing.

No charges have been filed in two other slayings, one in Wisconsin and one in Ohio, that authorities say Dahmer has admitted committing. A prosecutor said that he did not plan any more charges.

One of the new charges alleges that Dahmer had sex with a 14-year-old boy, then drugged and strangled him at the suburban West Allis home of Dahmer’s grandmother.

No remains have been found in any of the three new cases. Victims Richard Guerrero, 25, and Edward Smith, 28, also were identified by Dahmer.

Dahmer, 31, spoke only briefly at the hearing, saying he understood the charges against him and that he could now be subject to 15 life terms in prison, plus a total of 150 years as a habitual criminal.

He said also that he understood he was waiving his right to a preliminary hearing, which had been scheduled for today.

Dahmer, whose bail was continued at $5 million, is expected to enter pleas at his arraignment on Sept. 10.
