F--OFFENSIVE LINE

America’s Finest City for some reason attracts the worst offensive linemen. They should make these guys pay to get into the stadium.

Charger Girls are bigger threat to get the attention of the opposition’s quarterback than these lost souls. Bring back Lee Williams.

C--LINEBACKERS

It won’t be long before teammates tell Junior Seau to stop playing so hard; he’s making them look bad. Henry Rolling has a game to forget.

C--DEFENSIVE BACKS

Anthony Shelton and Stanley Richard makes safety kiddie corps experiment look promising. Chargers ought to be good, in say, five or six years.

D--SPECIAL TEAMS

Chargers make Steve Ortmayer look good, and how tough is that? Punter John Kidd should ask to be paid per punt; it looks like he’s going to be busy.

F--COACHING

John Friesz gives fans something to yell about. But early Las Vegas line has Chargers pegged as 51-point underdog in regular-season opener.
