NORIEGA’S SECRETS
Regarding your story on Manuel Noriega and his links with the CIA, the DEA and the Reagan and Bush administrations: When I contemplate the legacy of corruption, criminality and deceit that our so-called leaders will have left us with, I am reminded of a quote from “The Godfather III”: “The higher up you go the crookeder it gets.” And they wonder why no one in this country bothers to vote anymore.
I can only hope that when Noriega goes on trial he does what he has promised to do and takes all the people involved with him over the years down to the everlasting disgrace they all so richly deserve. Maybe then we will start to have the kind of government that we can be proud of.
