Gas Prices Up Slightly: Retail gasoline prices rose going into the Labor Day weekend, according to a report that points out motorists are paying considerably less than they were a year ago during the Persian Gulf crisis. The American Automobile Assn. said the average pump price for a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded was $1.162, up 0.7 cent, for the week ending Tuesday. A year ago, retail gasoline was 14.5 cents per gallon higher, AAA said.
