South Pasadena : Acting City Manager Named
The City Council on Monday appointed Police Chief Thomas Mahoney as acting city manager beginning Sept. 1 to fill in for John Bernardi, who announced his resignation earlier this month.
Mahoney will perform the extra duties only until the council selects an interim city manager. Four finalists for that post, all retired city managers from other cities, will be interviewed by the council at a closed session scheduled Tuesday.
At Monday’s closed session, the council also selected the firm of Ralph Andersen & Associates of Sacramento to search for a permanent city manager.
