Bashing the American Legal System

Share

Vera’s comments on adequate legal representation for the poor underscores the need for complete legal reform at all levels. For example, look at the bankruptcy system. Lawyers are paid before the creditors who have actually suffered monetary loss. Why not pay the lawyers at the same time and in the same proportion as the creditors?

Legal fees need to be brought down to realistic levels. Many abuses occur in the amount of legal fees charged to parties that did not hire the counsel whose fees they are required to pay, such as real estate foreclosures.

The fact that there are far too many lawyers, which causes far too many lawsuits, is self-evident. Legal reforms and the limitation of lawyer “gouging” would go a long way toward correcting the system.
