Two Firefighters Killed by Explosion Amid Blaze

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — A freak explosion in a burning restaurant killed two firefighters early Monday, officials said. Authorities said that as the two men entered the building they were caught in a “flashover,” a phenomenon that occurs when a fire starved for oxygen receives air from a new source.
