Share

Simi Valley police asked for help from the public in solving the case of a Simi Valley woman who was found slain in her car in January.

Dorothy Mae Brinkley, 44, was found dead in her car in the parking lot of Valley Federal Savings & Loan, 2358 Tapo St., on Jan. 15. An autopsy revealed she died of blunt trauma to the head and a gash on her throat, police said. Police said they have determined she was not killed in her car, a silver 1988 Mercury Cougar.

People who knew Brinkley or saw her car on the day before the body was found recently have stepped forward to help detectives on the case, police said. Police said they believe other witnesses may know more about the victim’s activities on the night of Jan. 14 and the morning of Jan. 15.
