Corrosive-Carrying Truck Spills Cargo

JACKSON, Ohio —
A tractor-trailer carrying corrosives braked to avoid a collision and spilled some of its hazardous cargo early Friday, prompting the closure of a highway in southern Ohio, authorities said.
A few houses nearby were evacuated in a rural area four miles west of Jackson, and the State Highway Patrol closed U.S. Route 35.
