ORANGE : Soviet Specialist to Speak at Chapman

A former presidential adviser for Soviet affairs will speak at 7 p.m. tonight at Chapman University as part of its continuing “War and Peace” freshman seminar program.
Condoleezza Rice, a political science professor at Stanford University and a fellow at the conservative Hoover Institute, will discuss changes sweeping the world following the collapse of ruling Communist parties in Eastern Europe and now the Soviet Union.
For the past two years, Rice served as President George Bush’s special assistant for National Security Affairs and director of Soviet affairs for the National Security Council.
