Nintendo Launches New Video Game System: Nintendo of America Inc. formally launched its high-powered Super Nintendo Entertainment System, a new home video game that it hopes will entice kids to empty their piggy banks. The hefty suggested retail price of $199.95 for the video game machine with double the power of the old system and $49.95 a game might not be budgeted in every child’s allowance, but Nintendo Co.’s Redmond, Wash.-based marketing branch said it has shipped 350,000 units.
