President Bush on AIDS
As was reported, President Bush urged behavioral change rather than additional funding to curb the spread of AIDS. Say what he will about compassion, I find his position both callous and irresponsible. I also find his position unrealistic.
People are dying in what is turning into the Black Plague of the 1990s. It is not only homosexuals dying; minorities and women are also seeing a rapid spread of AIDS cases among them.
Let President Bush take responsibility when the number of AIDS deaths soars because of the Administration’s inaction in seeking a solution to the AIDS crisis.
