Jerry Brown

Europe and Russian aren’t the only spots on Earth with impossible idealists, i.e., Victor Havel and Boris Yeltzin; America now has Jerry Brown running for the presidency at $100 per donor to keep special interests out of his hair (Part A, Sept. 4). Problem is, have we become too jaded to allow an idealist credibility? Although we complain, we tolerate being handled cynically by our leaders. Do we really want a leader who speaks honestly and has clean hands?
