OXNARD : Car Crash Victim an Apprentice Airman

The victim of a fatal car crash south of Oxnard was identified Thursday as a 19-year-old apprentice airman stationed at the Point Mugu Pacific Missile Test Center.
Michael Lee Oxford of Tennessee died Wednesday night from head trauma, a deputy coroner said, when the pickup truck that he was driving ran off Hueneme Road, overturned and struck a utility pole west of Arnold Road.
There were no witnesses to the 8 p.m. accident, but a preliminary investigation indicated that no other vehicle was involved, the Highway Patrol said.
