Cuban Emigre Sentenced in Slaying of Diplomat

WASHINGTON — A Cuban emigre was sentenced Thursday to 12 years in jail for his part in the 1976 car-bomb killing of Chilean diplomat Orlando Letelier on Washington’s Embassy Row.
Judge Aubrey Robinson sentenced Virgilio Paz Romero, 39, to the maximum term allowed under a plea-bargain agreement.
