Two L.A. Area Banks Disciplined: The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency disclosed that Mercantile National Bank in Century City and Columbia National Bank in Santa Monica have been subjected to regulatory enforcement actions requiring them to improve their financial conditions and management procedures. Mercantile National is part of National Mercantile Bancorp, a bank holding company whose investors have included such Hollywood insiders as the powerful Creative Artists Agency and such stars as Jane Fonda, Richard Dreyfuss and Demi Moore.
