NCR Holders OK Merger With AT&T;: The backing of 82% of NCR’s shareholders gave the phone company the computer firm it needs to boost its presence in the rapidly growing market for combining telecommunications and computer technologies. Shareholders of NCR, the nation’s fifth-largest computer maker, will receive 2.839 shares of AT&T; stock for each of their NCR shares, an exchange equivalent to $110.74 per NCR share.
