COUNTYWIDE : Anti-Child Abuse Volunteers Sought
The Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center is seeking volunteers to work with families to break the cycle of child abuse.
The Orange-based center, a not-for-profit organization that serves families countywide, will train volunteers as parent-aides to help families develop better communication, problem-solving and parenting skills. Volunteers are asked to make a one-year commitment and are assigned to work with one family at a time.
Volunteers are needed to work with parents who are current or former drug users and children who are at risk of substance abuse, dropping out of school and other problems.
A training session for new volunteers will be held Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1517 Braden Court in Orange. For more information on Exchange Club programs or the training sessions, call (714) 532-7663.
