USC, after its 21-10 victory over Penn State, has moved back into the Associated Press college football top 25, ranking 22nd. The Nittany Lions dropped from fifth to 12th. USC is ranked 23rd in the USA Today/CNN Coaches poll. UCLA has dropped out of both polls.

California (2-0) is ranked for the first time since 1977. The Golden Bears are 24th in the AP poll and 25th in the coaches poll.
