NEWPORT BEACH : ‘Coastweeks’ Beach Cleanup Saturday

Newport Beach will join beach cities throughout the state participating in the California Coastal Commission’s “Coast-weeks” and “Adopt-A-Beach” programs beginning Saturday.
The city declared the period from Saturday to Oct. 14 as Coastweeks.
To kick off the events, a beach cleanup is scheduled Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers should meet at the Marine Department at the base of Newport Pier.
The Newport Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Clean Harbor Day beach cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, with participants meeting in the parking lot of Newport Dunes.
