UCLA emerged from Saturday’s 30-16 loss to Tennessee at Knoxville without any serious injuries.
Quarterback Tommy Maddox suffered a bruised left shoulder, but he is expected to play against San Diego State Sept. 26 in San Diego, the Bruins’ next game.
Tailback Kevin Williams scored on a 74-yard screen pass from Maddox against Tennessee. It was the longest UCLA scoring pass play since Matt Stevens and Paco Craig teamed on a 78-yard effort against Arizona in 1986.
