Newport Corp. Completes $4.5 Million Acquisition

Newport Corp., a maker of precision laboratory instruments, said Thursday that it completed its previously announced acquisition of a French instruments maker for $45 million.

Newport Corp. acquired the Micro-Positioning business of Evry, France-based Micro-Controle SA. Newport said the merged companies will have annual sales of about $120 million.
