UCLA Forecasts Economic Recovery: The last three months have brought erratic progress in the recovery of the U.S. economy, but the foundation has been laid for a stronger turnaround this fall, according to UCLA economists at the quarterly UCLA Business Forecasting Conference of the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management. The outlook for California’s economy is less optimistic, but the rate of decline in the state has diminished, the study said. New signs of weakness have surfaced, however, threatening to extend the downturn into 1992.
