Fall Nature Classes--The Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim is hosting three weekday sessions of nature classes for children on year-round school programs. The first session begins Monday.

Activities will include crafts, hands-on projects, hikes and games. The classes are for children ages 6 to 10; children must have completed kindergarten to attend any of the sessions.

Each one-week session will have a theme. They are:

* “Coast Week: Celebrate California’s Coastline,” offered Monday through Friday. The children will learn about the creatures that live in the ocean.

* “From the Treetops and Beyond,” to be held Sept. 30 through Oct. 4. This session encompasses everything from birds to the solar system.

* “The Unhuggables,” to be held Oct. 7 through 11. Children will learn about snakes, snails and skunks, as well as other less-than-cute animals.

The fees for each session are $38 per child for Anaheim residents and $43 per child for non-residents. Classes are from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Children should bring a lunch or snack.

Preregistration is encouraged, as there are a limited number of children that can sign up for each session. Parents can register their children at the nature center or by sending their child’s name and the program fee to the Anaheim Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd., Room 433, Anaheim, Calif. 92805.
