BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Atlanta Rookies Arrested for Drunk Driving
Atlanta Brave rookies Brian Hunter and Keith Mitchell both played in Wednesday’s doubleheader, about 12 hours after being released following their arrests in separate drunk driving incidents.
Mitchell was released on $1,043 bond, Atlanta police said. The Cobb County Sheriff’s Department said Hunter was released on $710 bond.
“We have spoken to each player involved,” Atlanta General Manager John Schuerholz said. “They have expressed their sincere remorse and want to apologize.”
