SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

A 21-year-old Simi Valley woman who was kidnaped and sexually assaulted called police early Saturday after persuading her alleged attacker to wait on her front lawn for some money, authorities said.

Officers arrived about 12:20 a.m. and arrested Danny Rosborough, 32, of Utah, said Simi Valley Police Sgt. Larry Twichell.

The victim told police that she met Rosborough on Friday night at her house on Galena Avenue, Twichell said.

Rosborough was with a friend of one of her roommates and asked the woman for a ride home, Twichell said.

When they got into her car, Rosborough allegedly told her that he had a gun and forced the woman to drive to a remote spot in the Santa Susana Pass area, where she was assaulted, Twichell said.

“She promised to give him money if he would let her go home,” Twichell said.

They drove back to her house and Rosborough waited outside.

Once inside, the woman locked the door and phoned police.

“He was still waiting on the front lawn for his money” when police arrived a minute later, Twichell said.

After a short foot chase, Rosborough was arrested on one count of kidnaping and three counts of sexual assault.

He was being held in Ventura County Jail in lieu of $43,000 bail.

He also had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and a felony burglary warrant from Washington state.

Rosborough is scheduled to be arraigned in Ventura County Municipal Court on Monday morning.
