FULLERTON : School District Gets $1-Million Bus Grant

Share

The state Energy Commission has awarded the Fullerton Joint Union High School District nearly $1 million to purchase methanol and diesel-fueled buses.

The grant, awarded earlier this month, will allow the district to replace eight buses built before 1977 that use higher-emission fuel, said Irene Dardashti, grant specialist for the district. Seven methanol-fueled buses and one advanced diesel-fueled bus will be purchased, and the old buses will be sold, she said.
