Share

Ernestine McClendon, the freckle-face actress, comedienne, theatrical agent and coach, died Sept. 23 of cancer at the Hospital of the Good Samaritan.

She was 77 and most recently had been on stage in local productions of Langston Hughes’ “Mulatto” and her one-woman revue, “Twilight Memories,” in which she reflected on her varied career.

She was a successful actress on and off Broadway and in films before becoming an agent in New York City in the late 1950s.
