Rambo’s Decision: Dack Rambo’s decision to leave “Another World” is one “he made on his own,” a spokesman for the actor said Tuesday. Rambo announced earlier this week that he quit the NBC soap opera after testing positive for the HIV virus, which is believed to cause AIDS. Rambo, 49, asked to be released from his contract and was not pressured to leave, said Steve Rosenblum, vice president of the actor’s management company. Rambo gave his last performance as Rep. Grant Harrison two weeks ago. “He wants to devote his time to AIDS Project Los Angeles,” Rosenblum said. “He also wants to encourage people to get tested.” Rambo, who played Jack Ewing on “Dallas,” currently exhibits no symptoms of the deadly disease, Rosenblum said.
