Howard S. Marks has been promoted to group managing director of Trust Co. of the West in Los Angeles.

In his newly created position, Marks is responsible for managing three of Trust Co.’s major product areas--Convertible Value, High Yield and Special Credits.

Marks came to TCW in 1985 after 16 years of investment experience with Citicorp Investment Management.
