A New York woman said first baseman Pedro Guerrero of the St. Louis Cardinals threatened to hire somebody to kill her unless she dropped a paternity suit.
Lidia Ivellise-Beltre said Guerrero, a former Dodger, fathered her two children, Alexandra Guerrero, 3, and Peter Guerrero, 1.
Guerrero has denied the allegation.
In a separate case, Guerrero has been sued by a woman from Mission Hills who asserts that Guerrero fathered her 3-year-old son. That case is set for trial next Wednesday in Superior Court in San Fernando.
