PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : White Says He Hasn’t Spoken With Colts
Mike White, Raider quarterbacks coach who has been mentioned as a candidate to become head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, said he hasn’t spoken with Colt owner Robert Irsay.
“I have not been contacted by Indianapolis, and it is my policy not to discuss any vacant head coaching position during the season,” White said.
A former head coach at California and Illinois, White, 55, is in his second season with the Raiders. He was a finalist for the Cleveland Browns’ coaching job last winter.
After drawing a sellout Coliseum crowd of 91,494 for last Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, the Raiders expect only 40,000 to 45,000 for this Sunday’s game against the winless San Diego Chargers at the Coliseum.
