In Brief : Patty Loveless, “Up Against My Heart,” MCA.

Loveless (who headlines the Crazy Horse Steak House on Monday) does a great Patsy Cline turn on “Can’t Stop Myself From Loving You,” a show-stopping ballad full of broken syllables and broken register drops that exquisitely echo the love addict’s pain. Her song selection is otherwise solid, if not always inspired, her vocals consistently sincere and colorfully spirited.
