AIDS in Hollywood: The Brad Davis Fallout

Since when has Hollywood cared about anything more earth-shattering than the weekly film grosses?

Many years ago, Fred Allen said: “You could take all the sincerity in Hollywood and fit it in a flea’s navel and still have room for three kumquats and an agent’s heart.”

Nothing has changed, nor is it likely to. Hollywood will address the AIDS issue once it becomes cost-effective to do so.

Davis knew the score and acted accordingly. I would suggest that those working within the film community who have AIDS, cancer, herpes, athlete’s foot or halitosis keep the information to themselves, lest they be branded untouchable.
