WALLFLOWER: A stretch of Coast Highway in San Clemente, where two lanes already have been closed 18 months, might not be open until next summer while officials debate plans to grade the bluffs above it. One question: What to do about 3,600 Blochmann’s duleyas, rare and endangered plants with white flowers, that were salvaged after some emergency grading and are now stored in a nursery? . . . “We’re glad they weren’t destroyed,” says Dave Bramlet of the state Native Plant Society. “We want to see them remain in their natural habitat.”
