SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Community-School Teachers to Get Raise
The trustees of the Capistrano Unified School District have approved $45,000 in raises for 100 teachers in the Community Education program.
Program instructors, who teach state-mandated courses in citizenship and instruct those seeking high school equivalency diplomas, will receive $2-per-hour raises, to $22 per hour.
Instructors with 20 or more students who teach either state-mandated or elective courses also will receive the new $22-per-hour rate. Instructors with 19 or fewer students will receive a 50-cents-per-hour raise, boosting them to $15.40 per hour. The county average for adult-school teachers is $21.84 per hour.
