Unseen but Heard

Regarding “The Invisible Women”:
Sister, I heard that! Black female directors on the fringes of Hollywood do indeed have unfathomable obstacles preventing them from realizing their cinematic dreams.
And so do young white male directors, like myself. And old white male directors. And young white female directors. And Asian-American directors of both sexes. And black male directors of all ages. And gay and lesbian directors. And Jewish directors of both sexes. And Arab directors of both sexes. And directors who want to make “art.” And directors who want to make “trash.” And TV directors who want to make features. And feature directors who want to make TV. And theater directors who want to do Brecht in Chinese for Paramount . . . and . . .
Welcome, sisters, to the only game in town!
