Retail Gasoline Prices Decline: Prices at the nation’s pumps fell an average of 1.59 cents a gallon the past three weeks, reflecting a drop in wholesale prices and competition among retailers, an industry analyst said. The average price of all grades at full- and self-service pumps was 122.33 cents a gallon Friday, according to the Lundberg Survey of 13,000 stations nationwide. “Wholesale prices have continued to drop during the period,” said analyst Trilby Lundberg. “Stations have been competing heavily for sales, and they have been cutting prices to try to retain or recover volume.”
