C&S;/Sovran Corp. announced that Dennis C. Bottorff, president and chief operating officer, will resign, effective Nov. 15, to become the chief executive at Nashville, Tenn.-based First American Corp.

Bottorff, 47, has been president of C&S;/Sovran Corp. since its formation in September, 1990.

NCNB Corp. and C&S;/Sovran Corp. announced on July 22 a definitive agreement to merge the two companies to form the fourth-largest bank in the country, NationsBank.
