McCaw Introduces National Cellular Telephone Network: McCaw Cellular Communications Inc. said nearly all its service zones across the continent are now linked to allow customers to call between areas more easily. A McCaw spokeswoman said the company will eventually seek to include other cellular operators in a nationwide system in which customers would need only dial a simple phone number to be connected, without needing access codes. McCaw spokesman Bob Ratliffe said the company has invested about $200 million to make the national network possible.
