Corona Chick Sets Track Record

Corona Chick ran the fastest 350 yards in Los Alamitos history Wednesday night, winning her division of the Kindergarten Futurity Trials in 17.22 seconds.

Corona Chick, a 2-year-old filly, broke the track record of 17.28 seconds, set by Send The Gals Candy in 1988. Her time was .01 off the world record of 17.21 by Mr Summer Jet in New Mexico in 1985.

Corona Chick ranks as the fastest 2-year-old in the nation. She has won seven of nine starts and set a stakes record of 17.32 in the Sept. 28 Ed Burke Futurity.
